St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School Mapusa and Dr. K.B. Hedgewar Higher Secondary School Cujira emerged as state champions in the Under 19 Girls and Boys Badminton Tournaments, respectively. The tournaments were held at Indoor Hall Ponda.

In the state finals, St. Xavier’s HSS secured victory against Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science Margao in the girls’ category and RM Salgaoncar Higher Secondary School Margao in the boys’ category.

The Mapusa girls demonstrated their prowess by winning both their singles matches, ultimately clinching the state championship title. The victorious team comprised of Synnovia D’souza, Maithili Gauns, Nysa Dhupdale, Diya Narvekar, and Siya Dhavaskar. Similarly, the boys’ team from Dr. K.B. Hedgewar Higher Secondary School Cujira also showcased their talent and determination, winning both their singles matches in the state finals. The successful team comprised of Saharsh Gawas, Niraj Humraskar, Mahirudra Bhati, Yash Gokarnkar, and Yousuf Shaikh.
